ArmInfo. The currency interbank of Armenia increased its volume by 8.7% from September 4 to 8, after a sharp increase of 3 times a week earlier. In parallel with this, a buying up of dollars was intensified on the intra-bank foreign exchange market, accompanied by a weakened interest in the sale of the American currency, against which background passivity for RUR and EUR transactions was observed. The exchange currency market continues to be empty.
As a result, the AMD against the USD continued to strengthen - from 478.5 to 478 AMD/USD1, while further weakening to the EUR - from 569 to 577 AMD/EUR1, and to the RUR - from 8.3 to 8.4 AMD/RUR1. A year earlier, on September 8, 2016, the exchange rate of the AMD to the USD was 475 AMD/USD1, to the EUR - 534, and to the RUR - 7.4, which, in comparison with the current rates, indicates the annual devaluation of the dram to these currencies.
