ArmInfo. Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan received a delegation of the World Bank led by Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Cyril Muller.
As the press service of the government told ArmInfo, K. Karapetyan congratulated the 25th anniversary of Armenia-World Bank partnership, underscored the importance of further development and deepening of bilateral cooperation. The Armenian Prime Minister also congratulated the newly appointed head of the WB Yerevan office Sylvie Bossoutrot and wished her effective work in Armenia.
In turn, S. Muller expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation with Armenia, qualifying it as effective. According to him, the WB wishes to further strengthen cooperation with Armenia.
The representative of the World Bank presented the report "Armenia of the Future", which assesses the problems in the country, opportunities, advantages, and touched upon the activities of the government. At the same time, he noted that on the basis of this report the Armenia-WB action plan was developed. According to S. Muller, the proposals included in the report coincide with the agenda of the government's activity and reform program for 2017-2022.
The parties discussed a wide range of issues of cooperation in various fields. It should be noted that for 25 years, with the assistance of the World Bank, many programs have been implemented aimed at the formation of modern institutions and socio-economic development. WB initiated 95 programs for $ 2.3 billion. Today, the WB loan portfolio in Armenia is about $ 620 million.
