ArmInfo. Armenia is ready to deepen work with professionals from the Armenian Diaspora. Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of International Economic Integration and Reforms of Armenia Vache Gabrielyan stated this on September 20 in Yerevan on the margins of the "Armenia-Diaspora" Forum.
According to him, new programs to develop the abilities of Armenian engineers, doctors, scientists and lawyers from Armenia and NKR were discussed. "The professional potential should be used in all possible sectors," he added.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the importance of joint work in tourism was also assessed at the forum, to preserve the historical and cultural heritage of the Armenian people. Armenia, according to Gabrielian, strengthens intercultural dialogue and promotes the growth of world tourist flows. "In 2016, 1 million 260 thousand tourists visited Armenia, or 6% more than in 2015, and 10 years ago it was equal to 382 thousand. The influx of tourists grew several times and has a tendency to increase," concluded Vache Gabrielyan.
The Yerevan-Armenia Sports and Concert Complex named after Karen Demirchyan is hosting the 6th Armenia-Diaspora Forum on September 18-20. The forum gathered more than 1800 participants of Armenian origin from 71 countries. Within the framework of the forum, there will be 3 plenary and 16 thematic sessions, cultural events. For the first time in the work of the forum, four main areas were identified:
"The main tasks of the development of Armenia", "Features of Armenia's defense policy in the current challenges", "Foreign policy agenda" and "The main tasks of preserving the Armenians." To organize work in these areas, the responsible departments are selected: the Ministry of Defense, Foreign Affairs, International Economic Integration and Reforms, as well as the Diaspora.
