The official opening of the exhibition was made by Hovhannes Azizyan, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments of the Republic of Armenia and Hussein Estakhbod, Deputy Minister of Industry, Mineral Resources and Trade of the Islamic Republic of Iran. During the opening ceremony, Minister of Economic Development and Investments of Armenia Suren Karayan expressed hope that similar exhibitions will become traditional, contributing to the development of the Armenian-Iranian trade and economic ties.
The representative of the Foundation, the head of the Program Team Avetis Hovhannisyan recalled that on October 5-8, 2016 in Tehran an exhibition of Armenian goods took place, in which 103 companies from Armenia took part. "This is the logical continuation of the exhibition organized by the fund in Iran, and aims to strengthen economic ties between Armenian and Iranian businessmen," he said. According to him, from the exhibition held in Iran, Armenian companies returned with 9 contracts, 1 of which - an exclusive export contract and 2 memorandums on university cooperation.
According to Hovhannes Azizyan, Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments of Armenia, thanks to the exhibition, awareness of goods from Iran will increase in the republic. "This will also create grounds for further processing of imported Iranian goods, semi-finished products in our country, the establishment of joint production and export to third countries," Azizyan said.

Armenia's foreign trade turnover in the first half of 2017 was 1363.5 billion AMD or $ 2.815 billion with annual growth of 24%. During the reporting period, trade with Iran amounted to $ 114.4 million with an annual growth of 0.4%. At the same time, exports amounted to $ 34.7 million, a decline of 9.3%, imports - $ 79.7 million, with growth of 5.3%.
