ArmInfo. The venture investor Ilja Laurs, the head of the investment company Nextury Ventures, arrived in Armenia accompanied by the official representative of the Development Fund of Armenia (DFA) in the Baltic countries Rena Saribekyan.
According to the press service of the Foundation, the company has previously studied the possibilities of Armenian startups in the field of sensible sport, 3D printing, entertainment, financial technologies, human resources management.
According to the source, I. Laurs will hold a series of meetings with the leaders of selected companies (short list), causing investment interest. The investor announced his intention to conduct master classes for representatives of the technology sphere. In particular, today the investor visited the Center for Innovative Technologies and Solutions of IBM, where an informal sale of ideas - a sales pitch took place. The meetings will also take place at the Microsoft Innovation Center, at the National Armenian Engineering Laboratories, at Synopsys, at the Tumo Creative Technologies Center.
The day before, the investor met with the executive director of DFA Armen Avag Avagyan. In addition to discussions on the activities of start-ups, I. Laurs considered the option of investing in international venture companies operating in the territory of the Republic of Armenia.
The agenda of I. Laurs' visit to Armenia was drawn up with the support of the Enterprise Incubator Foundation.
To note, according to the The Wall Street Journal and Forbes magazines, Ilja Laurs is one of the TOP-25 representatives of the technological business in Europe.
