Armenia in the top five countries on gastro-tourism of the National Geographic Traveler Awards 2017

ArmInfo. Armenia is in the top five countries of the world in the category "Gastronomic and agrotourism", according to the analytical agency TurStat on preliminary results of the Internet voting of the National Geographic Traveler Awards 2017. The top five also includes Belarus, Georgia, Italy and Sweden.  For ski holidays Austria leads, for family - Cyprus, for sightseeing - Italy, for beach - Greece, for adventure - Argentina, for exotic - Japan, for health - Israel, and "opening of the year" consider China.

For adventure holidays in Russia leads  Kamchatka. The Altai Territory leads the way for recreation, Khakassia for the ecological, and the Leningrad Region for the excursion. Internet voting of the National Geographic Traveler Awards 2017 takes place from May 22 to October 15.

Gastronomic tourism is traveling and gastronomic tours to get acquainted with the region or country through gastronomy, local cuisine and culinary master classes.
