ArmInfo. Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan received a delegation from the Republic of Lithuania on October 4 under the leadership of Minister of Economy Mindaugas Sinkevicius and Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Linas Kukuraitis.
According to the press service of the Armenian government, the Prime Minister noted that the visit of such a representative delegation attests to the high level of political relations between the two countries, and Armenia is ready to expand cooperation. "Our trade and economic relations have potential that is not yet fully used, and the Armenian-Lithuanian intergovernmental commission should fill this gap," Karen Karapetyan said.
The Head of Government noted that Armenia's comprehensive and expanded partnership agreement with the EU, which will be signed in November in Brussels, will have a positive impact on the Armenian- Lithuanian relations. The Prime Minister touched upon the opportunities for Lithuanian businessmen to operate in our country, noting the creation of a free economic zone in Syunik on the border with Iran and Armenia's membership in the EEU.
The Lithuanian Minister of Economy noted that Lithuanian business is interested in the development of both Armenia and neighboring countries. "We are here to explore opportunities, expand and develop our relations," said Minister Sinkevicius.
