ArmInfo. Armenia and Iran will cooperate in veterinary medicine. The proposal to conclude an appropriate interstate agreement was approved at a government meeting on October 5.
Minister of Agriculture of Armenia Ignaty Araqelyan informed that the agreement is aimed at developing bilateral cooperation in the field of preventing animal diseases, stimulating the system of control over the process, and simplifying the mechanisms of trade in goods.
In addition, the exchange of data on the research of scientific centers, as well as information on legislation in the field of veterinary medicine and procedures for the control of the import, export and transit of veterinary cargoes, preventive sanitary measures is foreseen. Within the framework of the agreement, it is planned to establish a joint commission.
Armenia's foreign trade turnover in the first half of 2017 was 1363.5 billion AMD or $ 2.815 billion with annual growth of 24%. During the reporting period, trade with Iran amounted to $ 114.4 million with an annual growth of 0.4%. At the same time, exports amounted to $ 34.7 million, a decline of 9.3%, imports - $ 79.7 million, with growth of 5.3%.
