ArmInfo. It is necessary to fully use the potential of the Armenian-Russian economic cooperation. Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan announced this on October 6 during a meeting with Russian Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov.
According to the press service of the Armenian government, Karen Karapetyan expressed satisfaction with the agreements signed between the industrial enterprises of the two countries, signed within the framework of the 8th interregional forum.
Denis Manturov underscored the importance of the work of the forum, which in a format allows the business to find partners, establish business ties, and deepen intergovernmental relations.
Speaking about the importance of further development of the Armenian-Russian trade and economic ties, the head of the Armenian government pointed to those directions in which there is great potential. In particular, Karen Karapetyan singled out such spheres as agriculture, engineering, hotel business, pharmaceuticals, as well as organization of production in the free economic zone on the border with Iran.
The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction with the recorded growth in the tourism sector, which is due to the possibility of visiting Russian citizens by their internal passports.
Discussing the prospects of investment programs, Karen Karapetyan and Denis Manturov exchanged views on the possibility of using Armenia as a platform for entering the markets of third countries. The interlocutors were unanimous in the opinion that there is a huge amount of work, and consistent work is needed to continue effective cooperation.
