ArmInfo. At the initiative of the Association of Social Workers of Armenia and the participation of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, the draft law "On Social Labor" is submitted. "The draft law is of great importance for the social protection system in Armenia, and will allow for the long-term implementation of reforms to improve it," Labor and Social Issues Minister Artem Asatryan said on October 10 during an event timed to the discussion of the bill.
He explained that the bill provides for the creation of a Chamber of Social Workers, which will independently supervise. The chamber, according to the minister, will approve the methodology of rendering social services and monitor the process of observing established orders and norms by employees. And also evaluate the professional training of specialists. At the same time, within the framework of the bill, only those who have higher education and have received accreditation by the Chamber will be able to provide social services. In this regard, A. Asatryan noted that today in Armenia there are 6 universities, where you can get the appropriate education.
"I welcome today's initiative, as the bill aims to streamline the field, and create all the prerequisites that contribute to the establishment of the institution of social workers, which will primarily help to improve the quality of services provided, stimulate the work of specialists, whereby integrated solutions to the existing problems of Armenian citizens will be given, - he stressed.
At the same time, the minister added that this initiative envisages the creation of an environment within which the bodies providing services of various types will be integrated, which will form a one-stop-shop regime. "Thus, a citizen will not have to visit different authorities to solve his problem," he said.
However, as A. Asatryan stressed, the bill will be repeatedly discussed.
