Armenian Vice-Premier and Governor of California discussed further deepening of trade and economic relations

ArmInfo. Vice Prime Minister,  Minister of International Economic Integration and Reforms of Armenia  Vache Gabrielyan held a meeting with the Governor of the US State of  California, Jerry Brown, in San Francisco, USA. The parties agreed on  the process of signing a framework agreement on cooperation between  the Republic of Armenia and California.

During the meeting, the parties discussed a number of issues aimed at  deepening bilateral trade and economic relations. In particular, they  touched on the prospects of cooperation in the field of education and  science, renewable energy, and investments attracting.

Jerry Brown greeted the accession of the Ararat, Kotayk and Shirak  regions of Armenia to the Memorandum of Understanding on the  Management of Global Climate Change. The trade turnover between  Armenia and the USA in January-July 2017 grew by 38% to $ 91 million.  According to statistics, by the results of the first half of this  year, exports recorded 66% growth and amounted to $ 35 million.  

In the United States the largest Armenian community is in California,  numbering from 70 to 80 thousand people according to various sources.
