ArmInfo. Minister of Economic Development and Investments of Armenia Suren Karayan believes that the economy of the republic is able to develop even when launching a low-power nuclear power plant. "Everything will depend on the development of the energy sector and technologies for the production of electricity," Suren Karayan said October 18 at a meeting with journalists.
According to him, Armenian Government is negotiating to attract investment for the construction of a new nuclear power plant. For full information and in order to preserve political correctness, he called on the Ministry of Energy, the agency responsible for the process.
To note, the text of the comprehensive and expanded agreement between Armenia and the EU, published last Friday on the website of the RA MFA, caused serious public outcry precisely because of the provision in it- requirements of the EU to close the ANPP.
