ArmInfo. Armenia and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) will sign an agreement on expanding cooperation. The press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Armenia reports.
"This agreement allows to simplify the implementation of further programs, and will also become the basis for more large-scale programs and attracting investments," said the head of the agricultural industry of Armenia, Ignaty Arakelyan, during a meeting with the FAO deputy director, FAO regional representative in Europe and Central Asia Vladimir Rakhmanin.
"Closer cooperation with Armenia is the most important in terms of countering global challenges, in particular those related to climate changes, which can lead to the development of diseases in plants and animals, the urbanization of the population," he said. During the meeting, the parties discussed current support programs implemented in Armenia, which has been a member of FAO since 1993.
