ArmInfo. On October 19, RA Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan received organizers and participants of the international working forum of the Foundation for Armenian Science and Technology (FAST) and the US National Science Foundation-NSF.
As the press service of the government told ArmInfo, the prime minister thanked the organizers of the forum. He noted that the Armenian government places great hopes on steps aimed at the development of information technologies, science and education.
The organizers and participants of the NSF-FAST working forum expressed their gratitude to the Prime Minister for the willingness to cooperate. They noted the potential of Armenia in taking the leading positions in the world market of high technologies. "Together we have the opportunity to make qualitative changes in Armenia," Karen Karapetyan said.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the formation of an effective chain of technology-education- science, the use of the potential of the Armenian Diaspora in this context, the implementation of the Digital Agenda of Armenia, as well as the creation of the necessary infrastructures for the development of technological education.
The Foundation for Armenian Science and Technology (FAST) was established in 2016. The main mission of the Foundation is to create a favorable ecosystem to stimulate innovation and scientific progress in Armenia and beyond. FAST intends to mobilize and unite the financial and technological resources of the Armenian and international scientific community. The founders of FAST were Ruben Vardanyan and Nubar Afeyan on behalf of the IDeA fund, Mesrop Aramyan on behalf of "Ayb" and "Luys" funds, entrepreneur in the sphere of high technologies and innovations Artur Alaverdyan. The Board of Trustees is established, consisting of five people, including the founders.
