ArmInfo. In the Vatsoydzor region of Armenia, several investment programs are currently being implemented for a total of 6.7 billion AMD. The Governor of the region Harutyun Sargsyan announced this during the meeting with the Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan.

According to him, after the implementation of the programs, 190 new jobs will be opened. In the current year, as the governor assured in the region, 1850 jobs have already been opened. In general, it is planned to open 884 new jobs in the region. In the sphere of agriculture, 23 programs are implemented for a total of 2.518 billion AMD. According to him, now in the area of 40 hectares of territory drip irrigation is carried out.

The governor also said that the region fulfilled the fees on own income by 103.2%, which is 106.9 million AMD more compared to the same period in 2016.

The governor paid special attention to the sphere of tourism, stressing that this is the most promising sector for the Vayots Dzor region. According to him, for 8 months of this year the number of tourists who came to the region was 28200 instead of 24500 2016. According to the governor, after the implementation of the program for the development of the city of Jermuk, the number of tourists coming to the region will increase sharply.

Touching upon the healthcare sphere, Sargsyan said that over 8 months of 2017, 29 million AMD were directed to the budget through paid medical services, which is 7% more than the same period of 2016.

The prime minister instructed the governor to raise the rates of fees for paid medical services, as well as to attract private investors into the sphere.
