Directions for possible cooperation were discussed in Melbourne between the State Minister for Subsoil of Australia and Treasurer Tim Pallas with the Minister of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources Ashot Manukyan, who is in Australia at the invitation of the Government of Victoria, where the international forum on subsoil.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Energetic Infrastructures and Natural Resources of Armenia, during the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the standards of regulation of the subsoil use sphere and problems related to the exploitation of subsoil resources. Ashot Manukyan presented the steps being taken in Armenia to regulate the sphere, in particular, the conditions for granting licenses for subsoil exploitation and the introduction of financial guarantees. The process of realizing the commitments made by Armenia after joining the Transparency Initiative was also discussed. This, in particular, is about the digitalization of the Geological Fund and the availability of information.
