ArmInfo. The metallurgical industry of Armenia increased production by 8.4% per annum for 9 months of 2017, against the 5.8% decline for the same period in 2016. According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia, production of ferromolybdenum in Armenia in Jan-Sep 2017 increased by 8.5% to 5004 tons compared to the same period of the previous year. Only in September ferro-molybdenum was produced 517 tons, which is 2.5% less than the August volume.
September, growth was registered by 9.1% - up to 956 tons. The production of converter (rough) copper declined by 4.5% in Jan-Sep - to 8,697 tons. At the same time, in the monthly section, the production of converter (rough) copper increased by 0.5% to 842 tons. The production of copper concentrate increased by 17.5% in Jan-Sep to 316.4 thousand tons, and only in September the volume of production amounted to 36.3 thousand tons, with a monthly decline of 1.9%.
The production of aluminum foil increased by 9.7% per annum in January-September to 24289 tons, and only in September the output of aluminum foil fell by 25.5% to 2458 tons. Production of aluminum rolled products, significantly increasing in the annual cut, amounted to 541 tons, of which 93 tons fell in September.
The production of steel pipes increased by 44.7% per annum to 7812.7 tons in Jan-Sep, but only in September - it increased by only 0.1% to 1085.7 tons. The production of zinc concentrate increased in January-September by 17.5% per annum - up to 7,225 tons, of which only in September, 884 tons with a decline of 0.3%.
Data on the production of molybdenum briquettes in the statistics of the reporting period are absent, while a year earlier in the same period the volume was 367 tons.
All metals produced in Armenia are exported, mainly to Europe and the USA.
Recall that in 2016, the metallurgical industry of Armenia reduced production by 11.1% per annum, against a 0.5% decline in 2015. In particular, the production of molybdenum briquettes was reduced by 50.9%, aluminum rolled products by 47.7%, steel pipes by 22.6%, zinc concentrate by 30.3% and aluminum foil by 2.1%, while in 2016, growth was recorded for the production of ferromolybdenum - by 16.9%, convertor (rough) copper - by 11.4%, copper concentrate - by 23.1%, and molybdenum concentrate by 2.1%.
