ArmInfo. By the draft budget of 2018, the apparatus of the National Assembly of Armenia is planned to allocate 4.555 million AMD, which is 500 million more than in 2017.
As NA Head of Staff Ara Saghatelyan said at the budget hearings in the parliament, the increase in budget financing is conditioned by Armenia's transition to a parliamentary form of government and an increase in the powers of the legislature. Of the allocated funds, 167 million AMD will be directed to Armenia's membership fees in international parliamentary structures. The traveling expenses of the deputies will be 650 million AMD, instead of 350 million 2017. Another 222 million AMD will be spent on the implementation of the article "hospitality".
As Saghatelyan noted in 2018, the National Assembly will place a great emphasis on the development of parliamentary diplomacy and information and analytical work. He also said that in 2018 the funds allocated for the salaries of the National Assembly would be reduced by 255 million AMD, which is due to the reduction in the number of deputies from 131 to 101 and the number of employees of the apparatus of the parliament. Saghatelyan also said that in addition to budgetary funds, it is also planned to focus on the finances provided by various international donor organizations for the implementation of the tasks set.
