ArmInfo. By July 1, 2017, the unemployment rate in Armenia decreased from 18.4% to 17.8% year-on-year. The number of registered unemployed in Armenia by October 1, 2017 reached 73.6 thousand with an annual decline of 7%, against a decline of 0.8% in the same period in 2016. Of this number, 49 thousand were found (with an annual decline of 8.3%), and men - 24.6 thousand (with an annual decline of 4.3%), according to Armenian National Statistics data.
As of October 1, only 671 citizens or 0.8% of the total number of job seekers in Armenia have been employed, which is 17.7% less than the figure of a year ago. In search of work by October 2017 there were 88.6 thousand people, with an annual decline of 7.8%. According to the number of unemployed, the first place is occupied by Shirak Marz - 13.2 thousand, followed by Yerevan - 11.2 thousand, Lori Marz- 9.4 thousand, Kotayk Marz - 8.6 thousand and the top five "leaders" is Ararat Marz - 6.5 thousand.
Before October 1, 2017, employers submitted applications for 2399 jobs to employers' agencies (annual growth of 8.2%) with a load of 1 vacant place in 37 people (a decline of 14% per annum).
To note, according to the updated forecast of the Central Bank of Armenia, the unemployment rate in 2017 will be 17.9%, which is 0.2 percentage points higher than the previous bar. In the medium term, against the background of expected economic growth rates (2017 - 3.9-4.8%, 2018 - 2.8-4.2%, 2019 - 3.2-4.8%), the Central Bank forecasts an annual decline in unemployment by 0,3-0.5 percentage points.
