Armenian customs officers study the experience of Chinese colleagues  in the field of automated customs control systems

ArmInfo. Deputy Chairman of the  State Revenue Committee of Armenia Samvel Avetikyan and Deputy  Chairman Armen Sakapetyan met with representatives of the Tax Service  of the People's Republic of China and Nuktek Company in Beijing on  November 6-10. With the assistance of the Chinese company, the  Committee plans to implement a program for the modernization of  equipment and technologies for customs control.

As the press service of the SRC reports, the delegation of the tax  and customs service got acquainted with the possibilities of the  information center of the Chinese customs, approaches to solving  problems. The Armenian colleagues were presented with the work of  modern equipment for inspection and inspection.

Representatives of SRC of Armenia visited the large customs terminal  of Yanshagan to familiarize themselves with the operation of the  automated terminal system. Work of X-ray machines and control at the  Tianguin customs station was also presented.  Recall that on March  19, 2015, the Armenian government approved the signing of a framework  agreement with the PRC government, according to which the People's  Republic of China expected a soft loan of 155.5 million yuan (about $  25.3 million) for the modernization of customs control systems. As  reported by former First Deputy Minister of Finance Pavel Safaryan,  Armenia will acquire the necessary equipment, mainly from China, for  the money. and includes the  purchase of portable X-ray scanners to detect explosives, weapons,  drugs and other items with a high risk of smuggling, "he said.  According to the draft agreement, the loan will be provided by the  Export-Import Bank of China. The redemption currency will be Chinese  Yuan. The loan is granted for 20 years at a rate of 2% per annum,  with payment for maintenance of 0.25%.  The first five years are  preferential. Presenting the draft agreement, Deputy Foreign Minister  of Armenia Shavarsh Kocharyan noted that since 1999 the PRC annually  provides the government of the country with gratuitous monetary  assistance. As part of the modernization program for equipment and  technologies for customs control, implemented for credit facilities,  the regional customs house Zvartnots and the customs point in Meghri  were equipped with X-ray equipment.
