ArmInfo. The metallurgical industry of Armenia increased production by 12% per annum for 10 months in 2017, against the 7.2% decline for the same period in 2016. According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia, in January-October 2017, production of ferromolybdenum in Armenia increased by 4.9% compared to the same period of the previous year, amounting to 5,521 tons. Only in October ferromolybdenum was produced 514 tons, which is 0.6% less than the September volume.
In January-October this year the production of molybdenum concentrate increased by 3.6% to 9,204 tonnes, with a decline of 16.8% to 795 tonnes in September alone. The production of converter (rough) copper declined in January-October by 6.2% to 9717 tons. At the same time, the production of converter (rough) copper increased by 21.1% to 1,020 tons on a monthly basis. The production of copper concentrate increased by 9.1% in January-October to 355.9 thousand tons, and only in October the volume of production amounted to 39.5 thousand tons, with a monthly growth of 8.8%.
The production of aluminum foil increased by 14.5% per annum in January-October to 27,310 tons, and only in October the output of aluminum foil increased by 22.9% to 3021 tons. The production of aluminum rolled products, having increased significantly in the annual cut, amounted to 542 tons, of which only 1 ton was in October.
The production of steel pipes increased by 41.9% per annum in January-October - to 8897.7 tons, but only in October - it decreased by 0.1% to 1085 tons. The production of zinc concentrate increased in January- October by 19.2% per annum - up to 8,063 tons, of which only in October there were 838 tons with a decline of 5.2%. Data on the production of molybdenum briquettes in the statistics of the reporting period are absent, while a year earlier in the same period the volume was 367 tons. All metals produced in Armenia are exported, mainly to Europe and the USA. Recall that in 2016 the metallurgy industry of Armenia reduced production by 11.1% per annum, against a 0.5% decline in 2015. In particular, the production of molybdenum briquettes was reduced by 50.9%, aluminum rolled products by 47.7%, steel pipes by 22.6%, zinc concentrate by 30.3% and aluminum foil by 2.1%, while in 2016, growth was recorded for the production of ferromolybdenum - by 16.9%, convertor (rough) copper - by 11.4%, copper concentrate - by 23.1%, and molybdenum concentrate by 2.1%.
