ArmInfo. The increase in customs duties concerns only imports from third countries, and similar changes create additional opportunities for imports of goods from the EAEU countries without payment of customs duties. On December 11, Vakhtang Mirumyan, deputy chairman of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia stated.
He noted that importing from those countries with which Armenia has a free trade agreement, the increase of customs duties also can not affect the rise in price of imported goods.
According to him, raising customs duties will encourage producers to think about increasing production volumes.
The deputy head of the SRC denied the information that since 2018 Armenian importers will not be able to import any goods, including cars, into the territory of Armenia without the consent of the brand owner. "This information is not true. Individuals can import cars from third countries without any restrictions."
