On December 14, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Armenia Ignaty Arakelyan stated this during a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources of Uzbekistan Zoir Mirzaev in Tashkent.
According to the press service of Armenian Agriculture Ministry, during the meeting, the sides discussed the possibilities for cooperation and implementation of mutually beneficial programs in the agricultural sphere. In particular, one of the expedient areas for development of cooperation was the Armenian Minister pointed out the processing of fruit crops and milk, the introduction of modern technologies in irrigation and anti-hail systems, the introduction of drip irrigation, the establishment of intensive gardens. Ignaty Arakelyan added that a state program is being implemented in Armenia to provide farmers with agricultural equipment for leasing, in which Uzbek companies can also take part. The Armenian minister stressed the need to intensify ties between the experts of the two states, exchange experience, and introduce best practices. He noted that Uzbek entrepreneurs can be interested in Uzbek entrepreneurs in drying fruit crops and vegetables.
Ignaty Arakelyan invited his Uzbek colleague to visit Armenia in order to get acquainted with the local agricultural production and discuss joint programs.
The Vice Premier of Uzbekistan expressed readiness to continue the development of relations with Armenia in the sphere of agriculture.
