According to Karen Janoyan, the head of the Eastern Customs Department, the application of the light procedure and modern technologies as a result of the reforms make it possible to provide fast and transparent services, unnoticed and effective control. And within the framework of structural changes in the system of the State Revenue Committee, the car registration procedure, which was previously implemented only in Yerevan, can now be implemented in the regional subdivisions of the SRC. According to Karen Dzhanoyan's assurances, convenient conditions at customs allow to provide citizens with high-quality and fast service. "The centralization of customs procedures on one single site is the result of the measures taken to simplify and improve the quality of service," the head of the customs office said. He pointed out that now the residents of the regions have the opportunity to save time and money. Moreover, the new conditions allow for more effective regulation of foreign economic activity. So, at the Eastern customs in Vanadzor, now it became possible to issue excisable goods. As part of the reforms, customs fees have also increased significantly. "If 4.1 billion drams were collected in Jan-Nov 2016, then during the same period of 2017 this figure grew by 25% to 5.5 billion drams," Karen Janoyan said.
