The Armenian government recognized as a special priority state interest a number of territories near the Lalvar and Noyemberyan power lines

ArmInfo. On December 21, the Armenian government approved the draft decision on recognition as an exclusive, priority state interest in some territories near the Lalvar and Noyemberyan transmission lines located in the administrative borders of the Tavush and Lori regions of Armenia. "These high-voltage transmission lines, with a capacity of 110 kV, are designed to ensure reliability and quality of power supply in the northern regions of Armenia," said Minister of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia Ashot Manukyan.

According to the minister, LALP "Lalvar" and "Noyemberyan" with a capacity of 110 kV. have been in operation since 1962 and are currently unable to provide the proper quality of power supply, which leads to a decrease in the operational reliability of existing systems. To build new power transmission lines, as noted by Manukyan, it is necessary to alienate 81 land plot with an area of 0.9 hectares for concreting and installing pillars.

The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, a part of the World Bank, and the Armenian government signed a loan agreement "Reliability of electricity supply", which is granted a loan of $ 39.0 million. The goal of the program is to increase the reliability of electricity supply to consumers, the capacity of the transmission line, reducing the number of outages and increasing stability of the energy system of Armenia.

To achieve the goals stipulated by the program, it was decided to reconstruct the 220 kV Noroduz-Lichk- Vardenis-Vaik-Vorotan-1 overhead transmission lines constructed in the physically worn out years. The power transmission line will pass through Kotayk, Gagarkunik, Vayots-Dzor.

The main power production centers in the central part of Armenia, Hrazdan Thermal Power Plant and the Vorotan cascade of HPPs (Spandaryan, Shamba and Tatevskaya HPPs) are connected to the Syunik regions. Within the program, due to the saved funds, the modernization of the Lalvar and Noyemberyan power lines is underway. As a result of the international tender held in August of this year, the company "Gam Arak" won the victory for obtaining the status of the general contractor for the reconstruction of these transmission lines, with which an agreement was concluded for the amount of about $ 4.4 million.
