ArmInfo. The implementation of the state program for the acquisition of agricultural machinery in leasing the park of agricultural equipment in Armenia will be renewed within the next few years. Deputy Minister of Agriculture Robert Makaryan stated at a press conference in Yerevan on December 25.
According to him, at present the park of agricultural machinery is worn out morally and physically. The project of its modernization, which began in the spring of this year, provides for state subsidies of 7% of the funds from 9% required for the acquisition of equipment in leasing. Thus, the deputy minister continued, farms receive machinery at an annual rate of 2%. The success of the program was greatly facilitated by the participation of numerous suppliers and 4 financial structures in it. "As the market became attractive to business, in 2018 two more large European machinery manufacturers wanted to participate in the project," Robert Makaryan said, adding that 157 units of equipment have been provided to date, of which 67 are tractors, 2 combines, and 88 - other techniques. Basically, Armenian farmers prefer the products of Belarusian producers, which is cheaper and more familiar with the management. But the market has a technique of both American and European manufacturers. There was also one private machine-tractor station. "Recently, a high-quality technique of an American manufacturer was imported by a private company for a total of 200 million AMD, which can be used on previously unprocessed lands, and which will make possible the production of various varieties of fruits and vegetables known on the world market," the deputy minister said.
