ArmInfo. In 2017, the import of cars to Armenia increased by 100%, the State Revenue Committee of Armenia reports.
Thus, according to the Committee, since the beginning of the year, 32,500 vehicles have been imported to Armenia, as a result of customs declarations 23.5 billion AMD were paid to the state budget. This indicator, according to the Committee, exceeded the indicator of 2016 by 15 649 billion. The second factor contributing to the growth of car imports, according to the Committee, is the intensification of the economy. According to the ministry's data, in the reporting period, mainly middle-class cars were imported to the republic.
According to the agency, 60% of cars were brought from Japan, 20% of imported cars were subsequently exported to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union.
The department also assured that it carefully follows the tendencies at the international auto market, periodically reviewing tariffs for customs clearance. So, in recent months tariffs for customs clearance of ALPHARD (TOYOTA) cars have been revised - by 30%, MERCEDES class B- by 20%, SIENTA (TOYOTA) - by 15% and SERENA (NISSAN) - by 15%. The Committee informs that in 2018 a reduction in tariffs for customs clearance of a number of brands is expected.
