ArmInfo. Three stages of negotiations with European colleagues have already been passed regarding the export of Armenian fish to the markets of the EU countries. The head of the State Food Safety Service of the RA Ministry of Agriculture, Ishkhan Karapetyan, at a press conference on December 25, announced.
"At the moment, the fish market of Armenia is being audited, as a result of which we expect positive results. After that, Armenia will be able to start exporting fish to Europe, "he explained. In this regard, I. Karapetyan referred to the activities of the SFSS opened in 2017 on international cooperation. In particular, he announced the signing of a number of preliminary agreements with China and the start of the export of Armenian honey to the Chinese market and the final stage of negotiations with the UAE on the export of Armenian meat. According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia, the volume of gross fishery production in Armenia in January-October 2017 amounted to 20.9 billion drams with an annual growth of 0.1%. According to the Customs Service of the Republic of Armenia, in the first half of 2017, Armenia exported 66.6 tons of live fish with annual growth of 20.9%, fresh - 1165.4 tons, with growth of 59% and frozen - 32.2 tons with an annual decline of 35.5%. Almost the entire volume of exports fell on the Russian market.
