ArmInfo. The Agricultural Development Fund will allocate 2.5 billion drams for the implementation of programs in 2018. Gegham Gevorgyan, Executive Director of the Agricultural Development Fund of Armenia, announced this during the final press conference on December 27. From next year, the Foundation intends to start building greenhouse farms. In particular, 900 million AMD will be directed for construction works, 800 million for the provision of agricultural machinery.

Speaking about the results of 2017, G. Gevorgyan noted that the Foundation carried out construction works in 10 communities, which are not yet completed in 8 communities. For 22 communities, he said, a tender was announced, and for 32 - projects were developed. In total, with the assistance of the Fund, 42 units of agricultural equipment were provided to farmers and 16 food programs were secured. In addition, the Foundation started construction of a laboratory for the Vegetable Science Center.

According to Gevorgyan, as a result of the implementation of the programs provided by the Foundation, it will be possible to provide jobs growth by 15-20%, an increase in the number of livestock by 20%, and increase milk productivity by 20%. In this regard, he noted that the Fund's program for 2018 was highly appreciated by the World Bank.
