ArmInfo. The Armenian government decided to take under strict control security issues related to the installation and operation of gas-cylinder equipment. During the meeting held today in the government of the Republic of Armenia, its participants discussed the planned legislative changes concerning the installation of gas cylinders on vehicles and the need for their regular certification.
According to the press service of the RA government, the changes envisaged are also aimed at proper control over consumer protection issues and improving the quality of services. According to the source, the government will assume the authority to establish procedures for regular certification of cylinders and stringent requirements for the qualification of production bases and engineering and technical staff of organizations that carry out certification, as well as the installation of this equipment. In particular, supervisory mechanisms will be introduced, which will make it possible to bring to administrative responsibility persons in case of registration of violations.
According to various estimates, up to 70% of cars in Armenia are equipped with gas-cylinder equipment, and methane gas is mainly used as fuel.
