ArmInfo. Electricity production in Armenia in Jan-Nov 2017 amounted to 6,937.4 million kWh, with an annual growth of 6.4%, but only in November - by 66.6% to 946 million kWh.
According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia, in Jan-Nov 2017, TPPs increased electricity generation by 11.5% per annum - up to 2,488 million kWh, while hydro power plants were reduced by 3.5% to 2 099.7 million kWh. Armenian NPP increased electricity production by 6.4% to 2,347.9 million kWh. During the reporting period, 24.3 thousand Gig joules of thermal energy were produced, with an annual decline of 11.6%.
For the whole of 2016 the power generation in Armenia was 7315.2 million kWh, with an annual decline of 6.2%. TPPs reduced electricity generation by 7.8%, Armenian NPP - by 14.6%, thermal energy production fell by 43.7%, and against this background, a modest growth rate of HPP generation by 6.6% could not bring the dynamics of the energy complex to ascending trend.
