ArmInfo. In Armenia, the measures of responsibility for violation of the state of highways will be toughened. Amendments to the Code on Administrative Offenses were made at a meeting of the Armenian parliament on January 16.
Gagik Grigoryan, First Deputy Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technologies of Armenia noted in his speech that the document is aimed at ensuring road safety.
According to the bill, illegal installation of billboards and road signs that can distract drivers' attention is prohibited. "I emphasize that this is an illegal installation," the deputy minister stressed. He also said that the document prohibits placing along the roads of illegal buildings in the form of stalls and pavilions. In addition, it is prohibited to change the routes for laying water pipes, electric and telecommunication cables under the roads, and also to illegally use them. In case of violation of the provisions of the law, in the first case, liability measures will be applied in the form of a warning, and second and subsequent cases will be penalized. On interstate roads, the fine will be at 150 times of the minimum wage, on the roads of the republican value - up to 100-fold.
