ArmInfo. Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karpetyan met with the chairman of the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Sinichi Kitaoka at the 48th Economic Forum in Davos. As the press service of the Armenian government reported, issues related to the implementation of JICA programs in Armenia, as well as opportunities for deepening cooperation were discussed.
Prime Minister Karapetyan stressed that the Armenian side is interested in expanding cooperation with JICA and is ready to take the necessary steps to implement mutually beneficial programs and search for new ways of cooperation. He also presented Armenia's macroeconomic indicators in 2017.
The Chairman of JICA, noted that all current programs will be of a lengthy nature. Referring to the achievements and tendencies of Armenia, recorded in 2017, he called them very impressive.
At the meeting, an agreement was reached to conduct an feasibility study aimed at modernizing Armenia's agriculture. This will also contribute to the diversification of Armenian agricultural exports. The interlocutors attached great importance to deepening trade and economic relations taking into account the existing great development potential.
