ArmInfo. Electricity generation in Armenia in 2017 amounted to 7,762.9 million kWh, with an annual growth of 6.1%, and only in December a decline of 12.1% to 825.5 million kWh.
According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia, for 2017 TPPs have increased production electricity at 11.2% per annum - up to 2 871.8 million kWh. In the same time rhe hydroelectric power stations reduced the generation of electricity by 3.5% to 2,269 million kWh. Armenian NPP increased electricity production by 10% to 2,619.6 million kWh. During the reporting period, 30.6 thousand gigajoules thermal energy, with an annual decline of 10.8%. Wind power plants produced 2.1 million kWh of electricity, which is 16.7% higher than a year ago. Solar power plants produced 0.4 million kWh of electric power in the reporting period.
For the whole of 2016 the power generation in Armenia was 7315.2 million kWh, with an annual decline of 6.2%. TPPs reduced electricity generation by 7.8%, Armenian NPPs - by 14.6%, thermal energy production fell by 43.7%, and against this background, a modest growth rate of hydroelectric power generation by 6.6% could not bring the energy complex to an upward trend.
