ArmInfo. Revenues of communication sphere of Armenia in 2017 amounted to 145.5 billion AMD, declining by 4.1% in the year-on-year (versus the decline of 9.5% a year ago). According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia, the telecommunications segment, dominating in the communications sector (93.4%), provided revenue of 136 billion AMD, cutting it by 4.9% per annum (versus a decline of 21.5% a year ago).
According to the statistical data, only for December 2017 the total revenue of the communication sector increased by 8.5% to 13.1 billion AMD. Moreover, the telecom segment provided revenue of 11.5 billion AMD, with a 4% growth in December. On an annual basis (December 2017 to December 2016), communications revenue increased by 2.5%, while in the telecom segment growth was also registered - by 1.9%.
As a comparison, we note that in 2016, the revenue of Armenia's communications sector amounted to 151.8 billion AMD, of which 143 billion AMD were allocated to the telecommunications segment.
