ArmInfo. The projects for the modernization of the Agarak-2 and Shinoir electric substations, as well as the automatic electricity metering system (SCADA), financed by the Asian Development Bank loans, are being successfully implemented.
This was the day before, when the ADB delegation led by the head of the mission, ADB's leading energy specialist Tianhua Luo, stated the Minister of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia Ashot Manukyan.
Presenting the programs implemented in the sphere, the minister pointed to the important role of ADB in enhancing the effectiveness of the "High Voltage Networks", the technical reconstruction of the networks, especially considering that the construction of the Armenia-Georgia and Iran-Armenia power lines will make it possible to turn Armenia into a transit country between Georgia, Iran , as well as Russia. In addition to these programs, ADB also provides financial assistance to "Electric Networks of Armenia" in modernizing its infrastructure. "In 10 years we will get modernized and corresponding to international standards electric networks," Ashot Manukyan said.
During the meeting, the sides discussed other projects financed by ADB, as well as opportunities for further cooperation. The interlocutors confirmed their intentions to continue and deepen bilateral cooperation. In turn, Tianhua Luo assured the Armenian Minister of the intention of ADB to continue to assist Armenia in the implementation economic and energy programs. He noted that the Bank is interested in the presented programs and is ready to consider the possibilities of its participation in them.
