"Representatives of Germany, Canada and Hungary are interested in Armenian wine," said Zaruhi Muradyan, head of the Viticulture and Winemaking Fund of the Republic of Armenia, speaking about the results of participation of Armenian winemakers at the 25th anniversary PRODEXPO exhibition in Moscow. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture.
"Based on the results of the meetings, I believe that in the future we will conclude several contracts for the export of Armenian wine to these markets," said the director of VWFA.
PRODEXPO exhibition was held from February 5 to 9 in Moscow. Armenia was represented by 14 winemakers. The participation of Armenian winemakers for the second year is being carried out with the assistance of the Wine-growing and Winemaking Foundation. According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia, Armenia in the year 2017 produced 8.8 million liters wine and increased the export of wine by 30%. According to the latest data of the Customs Service of Armenia, in the first half of 2017, Armenia exported 1.2 million liters of wine, with an annual growth of 61%, with an increase in customs value by 84.3% to $ 4.7 million. Over 80% (1 million liters) of exports Armenian wine falls on the Russian market. At the same time, exports to Russia in the reporting period increased by 68.1%.
