ArmInfo. The Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan considers it necessary to establish modern construction norms for the design of newly constructed and reconstructed buildings of medical institutions. He stated this on February 22 at a government meeting.
According to the Prime minister, when developing investment programs for the construction of new buildings of medical institutions, as well as for the modernization of existing centers, it is necessary to establish a list of requirements, conditions, including architectural solutions and functional structures.
As noted by the prime minister, town-planning normative acts of medical institutions were adopted in 1989. Since then, the standards have not been updated, and today do not meet modern international standards, and also limit the capacity of medical institutions to provide a number of services.
In this regard, the head of the government instructed the Minister of Health Levon Altuyan and the head of the State Committee for Urban Planning Narek Sargsyan to revise the town-planning standards of medical institutions within two months and bring them in line with the requirements of the time. "The problem is that we are building medical facilities whose construction budget is extremely heavy for the customer: huge public areas, high ceilings, which means problems also with heating." There is no such thing in the world, "the Prime minister explained.
