The total amount of investments (capital investments - ed.) in the Armenian economy in 2017, taking into account various sources of financing, including state, loan and grant, amounted to $ 856.5 million. According to the report posted on the official website of the RA government , in addition to this amount, another $ 170.9 million were invested in the economy as part of regional development programs.

According to the report, the largest amount of investments (capex) was sent to subordinate ministries; energy and natural resources - $ 293.6 million, transport, communications and information technology - $ 175.2 million, and urban development - $ 99.0 million. The enterprises subordinated to the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments invested $ 78.9 million, agriculture - $ 72.8 million, in enterprises related to the sphere of territorial development - $ 58.0 million, health care - $ 31.34 million. The enterprises subordinated to the Ministry of Education and Science invested only $ 18.0 million, the nature protection department - only $ 5.1.
In the structure of investments the share of local budgets accounts for 3% of total investments, 4% for the state budget, 6% for grant programs, 19% for credit programs and 68% for the private sector.
According to the report, the largest investments were made in the modernization and repair of medical facilities - $ 24 million, the laying of gardens and greenhouses - $ 43 million, the purchase of agricultural machinery and increase in agricultural capacity - $ 20 million, in mining - $ 251 million, nuclear power - $ 30 million, $ 42 million, $ 195 million for the construction and repair of roads and transport infrastructure, $ 69 million for the development of electronic communications, $ 55 million for the construction of hotels and multifunctional complexes, and $ 29 million for multifamily housing.
