ArmInfo. In Armenia, the service sector in January 2018 increased volumes by 15.2% per annum to 111.4 billion drams ($ 231 million), against the 12.1% growth a year earlier.
According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia, the annual growth was due to a change in the dynamics of the volume of services in the real estate sector, from a 7.8% decline to a 30.1% increase and an acceleration in the growth rate in healthcare - from 9.9% to 36.4% %, administrative and support activities - from 4.4% to 17.9%, financial and insurance activities - from 11.1% to 25.9%.
The financial services sector is leading by volume of provided services - 27.3 billion drams (24.5% of the total volume) with an annual growth of 25.9%, with the lion's share being banks. The second place in the volume of services is occupied by the sphere of culture, entertainment and recreation - 23.1 billion drams (20.7% of the total volume) with an annual growth of 11.5%. In the third place, information and communication sphere - 18.8 billion drams (16.9% of the total volume) with annual growth of 7.3%, where the telecommunications segment is dominant in terms of volume. The fourth place is occupied by the transport sector - 13.2 billion drams (11.8% of the total volume) with an increase of 9.1% per annum. The top five in terms of the volume of services provided is the food and tourism sector - 6.3 billion drams (5.7% of the total volume) with an annual growth of 21.5%.
