ArmInfo. The Minister of Agriculture of Armenia, Ignaty Arakelyan, received the Deputy Industry Minister of Belarus, Dmitry Korchik, on March 2. The sides discussed the most promising areas for expanding bilateral cooperation. Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Armenia Igor Nazaruk also attended the meeting.
According to the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Agriculture, the head of the department noted that good neighborly relations between Armenia and Belarus have historically developed, which have become even stronger in the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union. Taking into account the experience of Belarus in the agrosphere, the minister expressed his desire to expand cooperation in the field of agriculture. In addition, according to Ignaty Arakelyan, at the suggestion of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Belarus in the near future in the national park "Sevan" is planned to plant forest plantations in 10 hectares. In this direction, construction and reclamation work is already underway.
In addition, Ignaty Arakelyan, referring to the state program of providing agricultural machinery in financial leasing (leasing), called on Belarusian colleagues to consider the possibilities of participating in the program. The Minister considered it possible to create a machine and tractor station in Armenia with the participation of Belarusian partners. The sides called realistic cooperation on joint collection of agricultural machinery. Arakelyan and Korchik noted the prospect of creating a joint complex in the field of animal husbandry.
Noting the Belarusian experience in the agrosphere, Ignaty Arakelyan suggested setting up an agrarian college in Armenia, which will function with farming facilities, which will make it possible to combine theory with practice.
