ArmInfo. The currency interbank of Armenia increased volumes by 27.1% from March 5 to 17, after a decline of 42.8% from February 26 to March 2. At the same time, players on the intra-bank foreign exchange market activated USD and EUR transactions, showing no less interest in RUR deals. Exchange market since the beginning of the year to this day is empty. As a result, the dram against the dollar began to strengthen - from 481.5 to 480.5 AMD/USD1, continuing to slowly revalue to the euro - from 591 to 590 AMD/EUR1, also tuned to the ruble - from 8.5 to 8.4 AMD/RUR1.
As the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia told ArmInfo, in the currency interbank market from March 5 to 17 inclusive operations were made in the amount of $ 16.650 million at a weighted average rate of 480.54 AMD/USD1 (against 480.95 AMD/USD1 week ago). Moreover, during the reporting period, (except for March 8-9), the maximum volume was fixed on March 13 - $ 3.2 million. In parallel, there was a sharp activity on the intra-bank foreign exchange market: the buying of the dollar jumped 2.5 times with the acceleration of sales growth from 7, 9% to 93.7%; the growth of euro buying accelerated from 25% to 94% with a change in sales dynamics from a 2.3% decline to 85% growth; buying-selling of the ruble has changed the trend from the descending 5.6-16.7% to the upward 80-277%. As a result, $ 194.2 million was purchased at the average rate of 480.00 AMD/USD1, 19.4 million EUR at the average rate of 590.60 AMD/EUR1, and 1.659 billion RUR at an average rate of 8.39 AMD/RUR1, and sold $ 166.6 million at an average rate of 481.18 AMD/USD1, 30.9 million EUR at an average rate of 594.59 AMD/EUR1, and 1.678 billion RUR at the average rate of 8.47 AMD/RUR1.
