ArmInfo. The delegation of Armenia headed by the Minister of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia Ashot Manukyan made a working visit to the capital of Turkmenistan - Ashgabat on March 20-21.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia, Ashot Manukyan, who is also the co-chairman of the Armenian-Turkmen intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation, discussed with the state minister of Turkmenistan Mirat Arshayev the process of implementing the agreements reached in Yerevan last year 8 the meeting of the commission, as well as the forthcoming tasks.
The sides noted with satisfaction that with the opening of the direct flight of Ashgabat-Yerevan, there are good opportunities for activating tourism. They noted the need to increase the frequency of flights.
The minister of the two states also discussed the agenda of the forthcoming meeting of the intergovernmental commission, which will be held this year in Ashgabat.
The meeting also raised the issue of the importance of increasing bilateral trade turnover, promoting exports, exchanging students and sportsmen. The interlocutors did not ignore the issues related to gas and electricity supplies, pointing out in this context the possibility of trilateral cooperation between Armenia and Iran and Turkmenistan.
