ArmInfo. The International Finance Corporation will implement a new program in Armenia to reform the investment environment. This was reported during the March 23 meeting of the Minister of Economic Development and Investments Suren Karayan with the head of the regional structure of the World Bank in Europe and Central Asia for finance, competition and innovation Damien Shiels.
According to the press service of the Ministry, during the meeting Suren Karayan noted that Armenia has experience of long-term cooperation with the International Finance Corporation. In particular, active cooperation is being conducted in such areas as improving the business environment, business environment and tourism development. In the context of ongoing reforms, these areas are considered key.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the areas of consultative assistance, as well as opportunities to attract foreign investment, implement measures to improve the business environment and promote exports.
Armenia has been a member of the International Finance Corporation since 1995. The corporation began investing since 2001, promoting the development of financial markets, energy and mining. IFC is a member of the World Bank Group. IFC's programs are aimed at promoting the economic growth of developing countries by promoting private sector development, coordinating private capital and providing business and government consulting and risk management services.
