ArmInfo. The French  development agency will provide Armenia with a grant of 10 million  euros for the implementation of agricultural programs in the Ararat  and Armavir regions. This was reported during the seminar on the  availability of financial resources for the country's farms.

According to the press service of the RA Ministry of Agriculture, the  funds will be directed to the implementation of drip irrigation and  anti-hail systems, the breakdown of intensive gardens, the processing  of fruit crops and the consolidation of land. Within the framework of  the program it is envisaged to enlarge a number of communities of  Ararat region, located in the vicinity of the Vedinsky reservoir  under construction, where a drip irrigation system is planned to be  introduced.

Ambassador of France to Armenia Jonathan Lakot noted that the  implementation of such projects will further strengthen the ties  between the two states and will become a platform for the exchange of  experience between representatives of various spheres.

Earlier, ArmInfo informed that in January 2016 a loan agreement was  signed between Armenia and the French Development Agency for the  amount of 75 million euros for the construction of the Vedinsky  Reservoir. The document was signed on the basis of the strategic  program for the long-term development of Armenia for 2014-2025. The  loan is granted for a period of 20 years with a six-year grace  period.
