ArmInfo. Artsakh intends to stimulate the development of livestock. As the press service of the Artsakh government reports, during the meeting with the heads of the regional administrations and responsible spheres of agriculture, the state minister of the republic Araik Harutyunyan spoke about new state programs aimed at achieving this goal.
The first project concerns the development of pig production. To this end, soon the construction of a new breeding pig farm in the Askeran district will begin. According to Harutyunyan, the pig farm will have two buildings - in the first one pigs will be grown for farmers, in the second there will be a production part.
"It is unacceptable, with the excess of barley and non-food wheat, to have problems with meat supply." Artsakh has a great potential for meat exports, and in the coming years we must pursue a purposeful policy in this direction. "In addition to the pig development program, we are working on this import of a large number of pedigree large and small cattle for their further provision to farmers," said the state minister of Artsakh.
During the meeting, issues related to the creation of new gardens with a drip irrigation system, as well as drilling artesian wells, were also discussed.
