ArmInfo. In Armenia, the service sector in January-February 2018 increased volumes by 15.7% per annum to 225.6 billion drams ($ 468.3 million), against the 11.1% growth a year earlier. Only in February the service sector ensured the growth of volumes by 2.1% - up to 114.2 billion drams ($ 237.3 million).
According to the National Statistical Service of the Republic of Armenia, the annual increase in indicators is due to the acceleration of growth in healthcare (from 8.7% to 32.3%), real estate (from 1.3% to 13.2%), information and communication (from 7.1% % to 7.6%), transport (from 9.7% to 15.2%), administrative and auxiliary activities (from 1.2% to 24.9%), professional scientific and technical activities (from 4.4% up to 18.4%), finance (from 15.1% to 19.1%). At the same time, the deceleration of growth rates is demonstrated by catering (from 24.4% to 21.9%) and culture (from 15.7% to 13.7%). Deterioration of dynamics was observed in the sphere of education - from 2.6% growth to 1.1% decline.
Financial services sector is leading by volume of provided services - 51.7 billion drams (22.9% of total volume). The second place in the volume of services is occupied by the sphere of culture, entertainment and recreation - 47 billion drams (20.8% of the total volume). On the third place the sphere of information and communication - 36.5 billion drams (16.2% of the total). The fourth place is occupied by the transport sector - 28.6 billion drams (12.7% of the total volume). The top five in terms of the volume of services provided is the food and tourism sector - 12.9 billion drams (5.8% of the total volume).
The average calculated exchange rate of the dram to the US dollar in February 2018 was 481.37 AMD / $ 1, and in January-February - 481.88 AMD / $ 1, against 486.51 AMD / $ 1 in February 2017 and 486.26 other / $ 1 in January-February.
