ArmInfo. From April 5 to 8, with the assistance of the Business Armenia Foundation (formerly the Development Fund of Armenia), 7 Armenian manufacturers took part in the 30th anniversary specialized exhibition of jewelers in Kazakhstan.
As the press service of the Fund reports, as a result of participation last year, Armenian producers managed to conclude export contracts for 38 million AMD, and the company "Mitario Gold" managed to open its representative office in Kazakhstan.
"This is a favorable platform for meetings with retail and wholesale buyers for the purpose of concluding transactions. Especially on the background of the emergence of Asian states from the crisis with the restoration of the growth rates of trade and market turnover. Using these growth rates, we intend to increase sales and export of jewelry in Kazakhstan and the region," said Narek Aleksanyan, head of the international business commerce team at the Business Armenia Foundation.
According to the source, hundreds of enterprises from Armenia, Ukraine, Italy, Russia, Belgium, the Czech Republic, the UAE, India, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan took part in the exhibition.
The specialized exhibition Expo is held twice a year, with the support of the Government of Kazakhstan and the National Association of Jewelers.
According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia, in 2017 jewelry production in Armenia amounted to 49.6 billion AMD, with an annual growth of 35.7%. Export of precious and semi-precious metals/stones and their products declined in 2017 by 14.1% to $ 289.6 million, while imports increased by 47.1% to $ 237.6 million.
