ArmInfo. Within the framework of the government program for the construction of solar photovoltaic stations, a roadmap for the development of the sphere was modified. Deputy Minister of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources Hayk Harutyunyan stated this on April 13 at a discussion on the prospects for the development of solar energy in the government of Armenia. According to him, within the framework of the program, a feasibility study has been prepared for the construction of 6 heliostations in various regions of Armenia.
In particular, as the deputy minister noted, one project concerns the construction of Masrik-1 station in the community of Masrik of Gegharkunik region of Armenia. The international tender for the investor's choice of the project was announced in April 2017, about 7 dozens of companies submitted a preliminary application for participation, 20 companies submitted an application for participation in the prequalification stage, and 10 companies overcame it. Already 5 of them submitted the final application for the project. Following the results of the international tender, the international consortium, consisting of the world- renowned companies - Dutch Fotowatio Renewable Ventures BV and the Spanish FSL Solar SL, won the right to build a 55-MW Masrik-1 solar power plant in Armenia, which offered the lowest tariff from the future solar generation facility - $ 0.0419 of electricity without VAT or 20.11 AMD per 1 kW / h of electricity. According to Harutyunyan, it is planned that the contract for the construction of Masrik-1 will be signed before June 1, and the draft government decision will be considered at the next Cabinet meeting.
Acting Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan stressed that there is a huge potential in Armenia for public-private cooperation in the field of renewable energy. According to him, it is necessary to take steps towards implementation of programs in the field of renewable energy, which will ensure the formation of a safe and independent energy system.
