ArmInfo. Experts Roskachestva on behalf of the Government of the Russian Federation have completed a test for the quality and safety of brandy three-year endurance - the most popular among Russian consumers. 47 cognacs branded in Russia, France, Georgia, Moldova and Armenia were selected for the study. Among the tested samples were the world's most famous brands (Ararat, Hennessy, Courvoisier, Martell, Remy Martin) and products of lesser known companies (Kinovsky, Three Stars, Koktebel, Elder, Dagestan,).
The authenticity, safety and quality of alcohol, its strength, mass concentration of sugars, aldehydes, averages, volatile acids, methyl alcohol and the presence of dyes, fragrances and toxic elements were checked. As a result, only 5 brands recognized the high-quality product: French Hennessy, Courvoisier, Martell, Remy Martin and the Crimean "Bakhchisarai".
A check for the absence of flavors did not pass "Three stars" (CJSC "Wine-cognac Plant" RUSS "), Armenian cognac" KD "," White Guard "," 3 stars. Odessa "(LLC" Rodnik and K ") and" Three Starlets "(OOO" Wine-brandy factory "Russian"). Products, to which there were complaints about the presence of flavors, received an unsatisfactory evaluation.
The quality of raw materials and the degree of its clearance of complaints from specialists did not cause any of the products. No violations were also found for the mass concentration of methyl alcohol, arsenic, lead, cadmium and mercury, and also for the level of the fortress. Lack of specialists also did not find it.
Special attention was paid to clarifying the nature of the alcohol from which the cognac was made - it should only be brandy alcohol, not cheaper wheat or potato. According to the results of investigations into the isotopic composition of the conclusion, alcohol is made in relation to 15 brands: "Crimea Island", "Bastion", "Legends of Sevan", "Russian Crimea", Fathers OLD BARREL, "Crimean Status", "Agrav", " "Three stars" ("VKK" Rus "CJSC)," Three stars "(" KVS "Trade House LLC), Armenian brandy" KD "(Aregak Ltd), Belaya Gvardiya, Armenian brandy Congratulatory, Three Zvezdochki "(LLC" Wine- brandy factory "Russian"), "Louis" and "Arman."
However, due to existing gaps in the legislation, these goods are not violators.
The products of Russian cognac producers under the "Armenian" logo are nothing more than counterfeit products. Chairman of the Union of Armenian winemakers Avag Harutyunyan earlier noted that the Armenian cognac is made exclusively from local cognac spirit. A real Armenian brandy (how to rename a drink after re-branding) must meet certain requirements (quality). "The question of" left "cognac in Russia has been standing for more than 20 years, but this topic was raised in the Soviet years, so it is better not to discuss it. Another question is that the Russian side sets new rules that will verify the authenticity of cognacs from different countries", said Harutyunyan.
Earlier, the company "Pernod Ricard", which owns the Yerevan Brandy Factory, also repeatedly raised the issue of the Russian production of Armenian cognac.
